What the Club OffersAt its core the Portland Dune Buggy Club enables its members to drive on the sand dunes in our Designated Dune Buggy Area. Most of our members own dune buggies (which must meet set safety standards). We also govern 4WD use by offering a 4WD booking system. A Family‑Focused CommunityWe are a family‑focused club in our 56th year and thus have many second, third and now fourth generations of families amongst our membership.‘The dunes’ hold a special place in our members’ hearts and we all relish the opportunity to enjoy driving on the dunes by day and enjoying one another’s company around the camp fire by night.Governance and Club StandardsOur club was established in 1969. Read more about our history here. Our club is governed by our Code of Conduct, Bylaws, Technical Regulations and Constitution that cover vehicle eligibility and safety as well as member conduct. These governing documents are constantly reviewed and updated to keep in step with technology, safety for all users, government regulations and member expectations.A Unique Off‑Road EnvironmentThe Designated Dune Buggy Area spans 1800 ha area of mainly tall bare dunes and is a true mecca for off‑road enthusiasts.
